This wine is greatest served as an aperitif, with a really slight chill (underneath 70 F) and decanted or aerated. A reasonably reserved wine, I discovered no actual exuberant fruit – and even warmth, regardless of it being 15 % alcohol. The primary whiff exhibits acidity, then a tinge of the leather-based and darkish fruit grown within the heat part of the Napa Valley. Aromas embrace baking spices and cassis. When the wine is aerated within the glass, some purple fruit begins to emerge. End is reasonable, not excellent.
PAIRING: I sampled this with various meals, and the very best pairing was the best — actually plain bread & butter or crackers.
