Orchard at Domaine du Manoir de Montreuil
- 30 hectares of orchards on a 120 hectare farm
- Commonplace measurement timber
- The orchard administration is to prunes the apples timber each three years.
- The orchards itself has 50 totally different varieties
- As required by the appellation of Pays d’Auge Patrice must have a map of the apple varieties within the orchard
- Patrice doesn’t use any pesticides on his orchards.
Orchard administration tip:
When Patrice notices bugs on the timber, he lets the cows within the orchard to graze and they’re going to scratch their our bodies on the timber and in flip knock off the bugs.
Whereas standing within the oak barrel room I requested ‘What’s the minimal time that the barrels keep empty” The reply is that “There is no such thing as a purpose to maintain the barrels empty” 🙂
