Proper, we have had just a few Edradours the opposite day, most having been great, and I simply realised that we had forgotten this one. Would you agree that we might shortly have it?

Edradour 18 yo 2003/2021 (53%, Signatory Classic for WhiskySponge, refill hogshead, 334 bottles)
It is mentioned that the Sponge is commonly noticed across the charming touristy metropolis of Pitlochry, however the causes stay obscure. Perhaps the panorama, possibly the clootie dumplings at Mackenzie’s… Color: white wine. Nostril: very oily, fats, on peanut and sunflower oils at first, then linseed oil, white asparagus, brake fluid and simply leather-based polish. We’re on the bone right here, and the bone is splendidly waxy and oily. The artwork of refill. With water: a wee tad leatherette-y, which is fairly Edradourian certainly. Now biggest of reports, that is already ‘new regime’ Edradour. Wee whiffs of horse saddle too, which is gorgeous. Mouth (neat): all on inexperienced and white fruits over a waxy and oily core. Greengages, white pears, gooseberries, granny smith and white peaches dumped into a mix of sauvignon blanc and grape-pip oil. With water: the grassier malt is firing again. Some bitter almonds, extra oils too, and a sense of, ach, err, bare Ben Nevis. End: lengthy, tense but fats, with many extra oilinesses. Grapefruit pores and skin and a little bit extra bitterness within the aftertaste, might lose one or two factors right here. Ha, factors. Feedback: Edradour au naturel, c’est assez magnifique. Come on, you do perceive French. Good assertion, Sponge (and Andrew S.)
SGP:362 – 89 factors. |
