Cardhu 15 yo (40%, OB, +/-2020) 
Undecided Cardhu is, as some web sites say, ‘the gem of Speyside’. Color: gold. Nostril: completely wonderful everytime you want ‘malt whisky’ in a bar or a pub. Good, nice delicate maltiness, some fudge, overripe apples, sponge cake, whiffs of yellow flowers, a little bit earl gray… It tends to grow to be fairly biscuity, whereas the 15 years would not likely really feel, however there, it is ‘good’ on the nostril. Mouth: fairly fruity at first, on apples and oranges, malty as properly, floral, sadly getting a little bit bitter and skinny, a little bit spirity, drying, relatively too tea-ish and cardboardy for me. In a approach, it will have a tendency to curve up whereas it will get bitter. A little bit unusual provided that Cardhu’s relatively an ‘access-category’ malt whisky that will relatively want extra sweetness and fruitiness to attain that noble aim, in my humble opinion. A reasonably modest palate. End: very quick. Earl gray. Feedback: not dangerous in any respect however modest, skinny and light-weight. Now I suppose a big proportion will find yourself ‘on the rocks’ anyway, so to talk.

Cardhu ‘Gold Reserve Sport of Thrones Home Targaryen’ (40%, OB, +/-2019) 
Oh, no, that awful Sport of Thrones once more. NAS at that. Let’s anticipate extra brand-damaging offers with Netflix, HBO, Disney and even, ach, Dramazon within the close to future. Not everybody may be James Bond, I’d suppose. Oh and why not some bespoke eventualities, with murders at distilleries, folks drowning within the mashtuns, passing out over washbacks, or smothered in PX (certainly, probably the most atrocious scene). Color: gentle gold. Nostril: extra on contemporary fruits, pineapples, apples, bananas, pears… That is relatively wonderful, I’d guess some recharred casks have been used. And a floral tone as soon as once more, with dandelions, acacia flowers… A little bit butter too, lactic (from recharred wooden certainly?) Mouth: definitely brighter than the 15, fruitier (fruity hops) and though it will then nosedive simply as properly, there’s some freshness remaining. A contact of tangerine and elderflower liqueur, which fits properly in Champagne. Hold Aperol to your prosecco. End: quick, however contemporary and fruity. Feedback: this may not defeat the blue useless horsemen within the sequence, however I discover it wonderful and I would not refuse a wee measure.
