Trade Veterans Purchase Goza Tequila

Spirits trade veterans Dave Schmier and Paul Hletko have introduced the acquisition of Goza Tequila.

Schmier, who co-founded and offered Redemption Rye, is now behind Proof and Wooden, which focuses on single barrel choices. Hletko is the founder, distiller and president of craft distilling pioneer Few Spirits.

Goza was initially based in 2015. The acquisition by Schmier and Hletko brings new funding and sources to the model.

“We’re thrilled to hitch forces with Goza Tequila,” says Schmier. “The model has a powerful fame for high quality, and we consider that with our mixed experience and sources, we will re-energize the model and discover a place for Goza within the crowded-but-growing tequila universe. It’s thrilling to work with a well-distilled, high quality agave spirit, making use of our barrel administration expertise to bottle some distinctive tequila.”

Hletko and Schmier will put money into a brand new family-owned distillery within the Jalisco highland, the place Hletko is working with the distiller to make use of the quilt crop corn to distill Mexican corn whiskey.

“What’s most enjoyable is the very first thing we did, which is to fill our personal barrels with recent blanco Tequila, and our first batch of reposado is now prepared for launch,” Hletko says. “The tequila class is rising, and we consider that Goza is well-positioned to capitalize on this development. We sit up for working with the group to proceed to innovate and convey new, thrilling merchandise to market.”
