The previous Penny Blue website underwent a 3-month renovation to develop into “Torino Aperitivo,” a vibrant Italian Aperitivo bar in Melbourne. Led by Hamish Goonetilleke of Liquid Residing (pictured above), this 75-seat enterprise within the hidden Driver Lane brings European aperitivo traditions with a Melbourne aptitude.
Head Chef David Rios infuses basic Italian dishes with native twists, providing round 12 small plates together with heat nduja, house-made focaccia, burrata, home made pasta, and a 500gm scotch fillet. Dessert delights with brioche con gelato.
The drinks program, managed by Kealan Brady and Mark Brooks, boasts creativity with out compromising on enjoyment. Anticipate an intensive collection of wines, spritz, Negronis, and a centered cocktail lineup.
The bar’s spotlight? An Italian water characteristic delivering Torino Negronis & Spritzes straight from the supply—an innovation they’re proud to showcase!
