1980 classic single cask of the misplaced Edinburgh distillery. Simply 111 bottles. Caledonian 39 Yr Previous 1980 classic Lowland single grain Scotch whisky. Single cask Refill American hogshead #92569. Distilled third August 1990 & bottled thirteenth August 2020 by Gordon & MacPhail for the Personal Assortment sequence. Simply 111 hand-blown crystal decanters have been produced.

Aroma Candy pineapple and baked apple aromas are complemented by hints of beeswax polish. Gentle cane sugar involves the fore alongside white chocolate and vanilla pod.
Style Gentle black pepper and cocoa powder flavours result in candy, dried mango. Delicate notes of candied lime and mouth-warming ginger rework into contemporary banana bread.
End Lengthy lasting and vibrant with lingering fruit and mushy pepper on the end.
In its day the Caledonian Distillery was an enormous enterprise positioned on the west finish of Princess Road in within the coronary heart of the town of Edinburgh. Based by Menzies, Bernard and Craig in 1855 full with its personal enormous railway yard which sat subsequent to the Edinburgh to Glasgow railway line. On the time of opening the Caledonian’s grain whisky was in demand for the newly developed whisky mixing enterprise and was utilized by Andrew Usher a pioneer of the method. Closed in 1988 the location was cleared and redeveloped for housing and enterprise use.
