Jean-Yves Prié (1948-2021) and spouse Janine based the Musée du Cidre (The Cider Museum) in 1987 on a farm and orchard relationship again to 1850. The household is now the fifth era of makers on the farm, solely not too long ago they started promoting it commercially when the museum opened. In 2018 the Musée was up to date and expanded to now overlook the cider manufacturing. Upon arrival the doorway is flanked by apples bushes. There’s a massive round cider mill the place at one time a horse would have been hitched as much as the lengthy wood arm to whirl a few heavy round stone that crushed the apples.
To the left is a bottle store and tasting room the place Cider, Pommeau and Calvados will be bought. On this identical space is a spacious reward store. I spent a little bit of time simply gazing upwards on the structure of the previous wood ceiling.

The museum entrance is throughout from the bottle store and positively value a go to! The primary room has an assortment of collections each on apples and photographs of cidermaking within the area. I assumed that was sufficient however was then lead into the brand new addition with excessive ceilings and a group of historic cidermaking gear.
Son Philippe Prié has taken over the cidermaking duties and his spouse Karine the museum and retailer. In the present day is it a present piece that has breathtaking views and naturally glorious cider!
