Swiss bartender David Pfister wins Graham’s Port competitors – Drinks Worldwide


The profitable cocktail of the Graham’s Mix Sequence, ‘Purple Curtain’, mixed Mix Nº12 with Camus VS cognac and a do-it-yourself pink currant cordial, completed with a spoon of Carpano Botanic Bitter.

Charlotte Symington, senior advertising and marketing supervisor at Symington Household Estates mentioned: “We created the Mix Sequence to unlock the potential we all know port has inside the world of mixology, so it’s been particularly gratifying to see – and style – all of the ingenious cocktails created by our grand finalists.”

The grand ultimate in Porto had seven bartenders from internationally compete with Cedric Philippe from Belgium and Austria’s Yannik Seeber taking second and third place respectively.

Every entry was judged on its identify, inventive inspiration, replicability, visible illustration, aroma and style.

The judging panel included fifth era Symington member of the family Charlotte Symington, editor of The Cocktail Lovers Sandrae Lawrence, sommelier and bartender Hannes Desmedt, and bartender Iolanda Lourinha.

The profitable prize consisted of a €1,000 money prize in addition to a six months’ provide of Graham’s Mix N º5 and Mix N º12 for the bar.
