Bartender Tyler Ledbetter created this cocktail with the intent of marrying the wealthy flavors of the Espresso Martini with the spirit-forward profile of a traditional Previous Original.
He chosen Cantera Negra Cafe liqueur for its capacity to enrich, moderately than overpower, the Brother’s Bond Bourbon that serves as the bottom. The liqueur’s pure agave sweetness, with hints of vanilla and occasional, pairs superbly with the bourbon’s caramel smoothness and delicate smokiness. A splash of Ruby Port provides a contact of purple colour and depth, whereas orange bitters and recent orange peel present a citrusy steadiness. Splendid as a late-night or post-dinner drink, this cocktail is flexible sufficient to take pleasure in at any time.
