Drumshanbo Sausage Tree Irish Vodka – Good Spirits Information

Drumshanbo (which means a ridge of the previous huts) is a small city located within the coronary heart of County Leitrim, Eire. Drumshanbo is surrounded by a scenic space of rolling hills, woodlands, lakes and the Sliabh an Iarainn & Arigna mountains. Based by Patrick J Rigney in 2014, The Shed Distillery is the primary distillery within the Irish area of Connacht for greater than 100 years.  The distillery launched its first product, Gunpowder Irish Gin, in 2016.

The Shed makes use of conventional strategies of copper pot and column stills, and PJ experiments with wild grains, Irish flora, and unique botanicals. The distillery makes use of 5 copper pot stills – 3 centered on Irish Whiskey, and a couple of on Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin – and a couple of copper column stills – specializing in Sausage Tree Pure Irish Vodka. All have been particularly made by Arnold Holstein in Germany and introduced over to Drumshanbo.

To make Sausage Tree Pure Irish Vodka, Rigney makes use of Irish grain, the fruits of the Kigelia Africana, also called the “Sausage Tree” as a result of their form, and wild Irish nettle.

GSN’s Remarks: Clear scent within the glass with an inviting aroma. A heat, considerably mushy mouthfeel results in a mineral ahead creaminess with mild touches of vanilla and inexperienced peppercorn. The end ends with a dry mouthfeel and slight chalkiness. A vodka with character, physique and life. One other winner from the oldsters at Drumshanbo. GSN Ranking: A+
