Enoteca Ponti formally opened its doorways in August, bringing a mix of genuine and trendy Italian meals and wines to the buzzing neighbourhood. Created by the staff behind the Parisian-inspired Bistro Rex, this eatery and wine bar has taken over the previous Monopole web site on Macleay Avenue, bringing new life to the enduring location.   

Restaurant Supervisor Jess Saffioti mentioned, “We’re so excited to launch Enoteca Ponti at such a buzzing location on Macleay Avenue. It’s been plenty of laborious work from our restaurant staff, Ar Huis and naturally, our unbelievable chef, Aldo, who has created a menu stuffed with love that we will’t wait to indicate Sydney diners.”  

Helmed by chef Aldo Farroni, beforehand of Shell Home Sydney, Enoteca Ponti will provide Roman classics and trendy dishes with a twist, paired with basic cocktails and an Italian-centric wine checklist. Designed and constructed by the staff at Ar Huis, the interiors pay homage to prolific Italian architect, Gio Ponti, the usual bearer of geometric tiles, and are harking back to a Nineteen Fifties Roman wine bar, full with geometric tiles aplenty, patinated finishes and tobacco-stained ceilings.

Hailing from Tarquinia, on the west coast of Italy simply north of Rome, Aldo has introduced his ardour for meals and wine to life by way of his fastidiously curated menu, that includes basic snacks like house-made focaccia, charcuterie and cheese, modern dishes like lasagna spring rolls with fermented chilli oil, and, in fact, house-made pastas and mouthwatering mains just like the 600g Westholme T-bone or salt-baked complete John Dory.  

“My meals, my imaginative and prescient for Enoteca Ponti, is to convey the Italian delicacies of my heritage and evolve it to go well with a contemporary, international context. What higher place to convey this to life than on Macleay Avenue in vibrant Potts Level,” mentioned Aldo. “I need Enoteca Ponti to reflect the genuine Italian eating expertise – sharing nice meals and wine on the desk with pals.”
