Glenmorangie Launches Grand Classic 1998

Scotch model Glenmorangie has unveiled a 23-year-old restricted version that outcomes from one of many whisky creator’s earliest experiments. Glenmorangie Grand Classic Malt 1998, which joins the distillery’s famend Bond Home No.1 classic assortment, showcases a number of the first Glenmorangie ever aged in new charred oak.

Dr. Invoice Lumsden, the model’s director of whisky creation, started the venture in 1998, getting old the whisky in closely charred virgin wooden casks. After 23 years he completed the whisky in oloroso sherry casks, leading to a single malt that balances ripe fruit and orange chocolate notes, sugared almonds and spice, the corporate says.

Glenmorangie Grand Classic Malt 1998, bottled at 43% ABV, has a prompt retail worth of $900. The model, owned by LVMH, in July had launched new packaging throughout its core Scotch vary: Authentic, La Santa and Quinta Ruban.
