Harvest begins in Washington | Sean P. Sullivan’s Northwest Wine Report

Harvest is underway in Columbia Valley. Christian Grieb at Treveri Cellars stories choosing Chardonnay from the vineyard’s property winery in Yakima Valley on August thirty first. The fruit, which can be used for glowing wine, was picked at 17.1 Brix and three.18 pH.

“Good for bubbly!” says Grieb.

Grieb notes that this classic seems about 15 days behind current years, in keeping with what different growers have reported. Treveri picked property Chardonnay on August twelfth in 2021. The vineyard’s first fruit most up-to-date years has come been Hilltop Winery Chardonnay, picked on August eleventh in 2021, August twenty first in 2020, and the identical date in 2019. Treveri picked Hilltop  Chardonnay on August sixteenth in 2018 and 2016. This data is summarized within the desk under.
