Final November, Heaven Hill Distillery introduced the discharge of the Fall 2023 version of Previous Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey at 8 years previous. Comprised of barrels produced in Fall 2015, the twelfth nationwide launch ushers within the newest version to the decanter sequence.
Bottled in an ornate decanter, the Fall version is denoted by a black label. As was the case for the previous editions, this version’s tax strip, which has all the time been a signature of transparency on bottled-in-bond merchandise, will disclose when the liquid was produced and bottled. It meets the strict necessities of a bottled-in-bond: the product of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged a minimal of 4 years, and bottled at 100 proof or 50% alcohol by quantity. GSN’s Remarks: Chocolate peppermint and brown sugar notes on the nostril. A blanket of cinnamon overlaid on prime of the opposite two scents. On the palate, a robust deplete entrance. Notes of burnt caramel and toasted rye. Jogs my memory of a smoky rye with out the heaviness of smoke. Extra refined flavors of peach and cream whisper. Skinny mouthfeel, which washes over the palette shortly with a brief end, abandoning a nice heat and sweetness on the tongue. GSN Ranking: A-
