Orkney-based distillery, Highland Park, has unveiled its 54 Yr Previous single malt Scotch Whisky, the oldest launch from the corporate up to now.
Solely 225 bottles have been created, by Highland Park grasp whisky maker Gordon Movement, because it launches forward of the distillery’s 225th Anniversary.
“This exceptionally uncommon 54 Yr Previous single malt Scotch Whisky has been nurtured by cautious maturation and harmonisation. Representing 1 / 4 of Highland Park’s life, we felt it was a becoming method to mark our 225th anniversary; born and crafted within the coronary heart of Orkney,” stated Movement.
Initially laid down in 1968, 4 refill butts and 6 refill hogsheads have been mixed in February 2008 and refilled into first fill European sherry butts, the place the whisky continued to mature. The ultimate 14 years of maturation, since 2008, was in ex-sherry casks.
The Highland Park 54 Yr Previous consists of a bespoke embossed bottle containing the whisky, a presentation field crafted from Scottish oak wooden, and an invite for the customer to attend a once-in-a-lifetime expertise in Orkney.
Designed by craftsperson and designer, John Galvin, the field is sculpted to characterize the cliffs of Yesnaby in Orkney.
