Prior to now 5 years or so, I’ve had merely 4 Littlemill bottlings, plus the one we’ll attempt right now. Three of them (possibly 4) had been bottled by The Whisky Company of their yearly (Whisky Truthful associated) bottlings.
It’s a Littlemill 1989, much like the one bottled in 2019, at a reasonably excessive energy of 55.2¨% ABV.
Littlemill 32 yo 1989 (55,2%, The Whisky Company 2022, hogshead, 216 btl.)
Nostril: as anticipated, fairly a fruit bomb. Meaning juicy mango, ladyfinger banana, lime and maracuja. Then some frangipani flower and jasmine. Orange zest within the background. Beneath there’s a barely waxy / chalky be aware, a touch of custard and wee natural notes. Later a touch of mint and grass in the summertime too. Pretty.
Mouth: a stunning mixture of fruit juice and mint. Very candy, with the traditional mango and keenness fruit but additionally quinces, mashed bananas and papaya. Then the mint strikes in direction of different herbs and a zesty / chalky be aware. Some greener touches in direction of the top. Cream soda with lime.
End: lengthy, on tropical fruits, cirtus, floral notes and a touch of inexperienced oak.
We miss this profile. The nostril provides loads of tropical fruits – it’s wealthy and seductive. Extra candy fruits on the palate, albeit with a greener / chalkier edge. To sum up, very harmonious and really easy to drink!
