Lot No. 40 whisky, produced at Hiram-Walker Distillery in Windsor, Canada, has launched its second product within the U.S. market: Lot No. 40 Darkish Oak.
That is supposed as a much bigger, bolder model of the unique Lot No. 40 launch, the corporate says.
Like its predecessor, Darkish Oak is a 100% rye grain whisky, distilled in a pot nonetheless. However this new launch is introduced at a better proof (96 proof), and twice barreled in new oak barrels.
The primary barreling is a char no. 2, and the second barreling is a char no. 4, which is what provides the whisky extra depth of taste and a darker coloration, the corporate says.
“We’re very excited to deliver this award-winning whisky to the U.S. Lot 40 Darkish Oak units a brand new normal for Canadian rye whisky,” says Grasp Blender Dr. Don Livermore. “100% rye, pot-distilled, double aged in quantity 2 and quantity 4 new white oak casks, and 48% ABV: ticks all of the packing containers when making premium whisky.
