Dailuaine 12 yo 2008/2021 (54.8%, Fable Whisky, The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay, Chapter One, cask #307138, 267 bottles) 
I am not lifeless certain I am getting the entire story right here, however I discover the label fairly. Yeah proper, when the sensible man reveals the moon, the idiot appears at his finger… Color: white wine. Nostril: no ‘S’, somewhat a variety of nougat and popcorn, roasted pecans, peanut butter, fudge and toffee, butterscotch… That is all in protected territory, let’s go on… With water: good. Uncooked wool, grist, recent bread, linseed oil, good improvement with water. Mouth (neat): oh very, superb, actually. Excellent roasted cereals, cornflakes, nougat, firmer honeys, contact of earth, liquorice, a smidgen of smoked tea, half a spoonful of marmalade… Trendy witchcraft right here, completely executed. With water: candy breads, liqueurs, delicate spices, citrus, teas… End: somewhat lengthy, completely balanced, malty and citrusy. Feedback: I am afraid I’ve used the phrase ‘good’ too many instances this time once more. I will want to purchase a correct dictionary of synonyms! And of antonyms whereas I am at it. Any recommendations? Ah, sure, this younger Dailuaine… Properly, it was simply good.

Dailuaine 46 yo 1973/2019 (45.1%, Hunter Laing, Platinum Outdated & Uncommon, 231 bottles) 
At all times beloved this collection. Oh, the Broras, oh the Port Ellens! And picture, a newish 1973 Dailuaine, is not this very… Led Zeppelin? Color: gold. Nostril: the type of advanced secondary and tertiary aromas that solely outdated whiskies may give to the world. Fantastic whiffs of teak oil (simply labored with that humorous liquid), beeswax, leather-based polish, then somewhat manuka honey and mangos, honeysuckle, fresh-sawn cherrywood, zucchini and elderberry flowers, a drop of pink olive oil maybe, balsa wooden… Properly all is great and good, however as we each know, with very outdated whiskies the satan lies on our palates… Mouth: nicely, no devils in sight, somewhat a number of aesthetes pondering the respective deserves of oils, waxes, leaves and softer ointments in outdated whiskies. It isn’t even fragile (it is true that 45% vol. stays a protected energy.) Somewhat a mixture of fruit peelings and skins (melon, apples) with varied natural teas, and a number of other sorts of waxes.
