Summer season Duets
At this time Clynelish
Clynelish, however in fact. It is not shocking in any respect that TWE would have chosen the 14 as one in all their 20 whiskies that modified the world. Between us, they may have chosen one in all theirs as an alternative, however they’re smarter than that.

Clynelish 14 yo (46%, OB, +/-2021)

Clynelish 14 yo (46%, OB, +/-2021) Three stars
I keep in mind I didn’t like the primary rendition of Clynelish 14 in any respect. Issues have modified fairly a wee bit. Color: gold. Nostril: bitter apples, weissbeer, vanilla, mead, beeswax and just a little chardonnay. We’re softer than anticipated right here, a lot softer. A lot, a lot softer… Mouth: I am considering Oban, and that is not solely due to it being a 14 as effectively. I am lacking the waxy fatness right here, the greasiness, the oils and all of the citrus. However, some sorts of salty teas are there, canine rose… End: medium, with just a little gritty oak. Inexperienced tea. Feedback: an odd toned-down model, thinner, lighter, lacking a few of the markers (the waxes) and with extra oak. Nonetheless an especially high-quality dram, however is not Clynelish 14 getting some wee relaxation?
SGP:341 – 81 factors.

Clynelish 2010/2021 (59.7%, The Single Malts of Scotland, cask #800204)

Clynelish 2010/2021 (59.7%, The Single Malts of Scotland, cask #800204) Four stars
Model new stuff, not even positive in regards to the information whereas the image’s only for illustration function. Color: straw. Nostril: the 2010s aren’t the waxier of all of them however we’re already discovering a really clear mixture of sunflower oil, beeswax, grapefruits and white asparagus, plus touches of coconut and vanilla. With water: touches of white oak, coconut, bread, croissants, marshmallow, aniseed… Mouth (neat): bonbons aplenty, Haribo’s finest, marshmallows and bubblegum. Very younger and really candy. With water: yeah, there, it was in want of water. Herbs, rhubarb, sage, seaweed, samphire, salt, leaven and yeasts… End: lengthy and spicier, with extra pepper and, maybe, ginseng. Extra sweetness once more within the aftertaste. Feedback: superb and manner above the OB, only a tad younger.
SGP:541 – 85 factors.

I agree we’d like one other one, thanks on your enter…

Clynelish 1996/2020 (54.2%, Whisky Maniac, Sansibar Clans, bourbon hogshead, 282 bottles)

Clynelish 1996/2020 (54.2%, Whisky Maniac, Sansibar Clans, bourbon hogshead, 282 bottles) Four stars and a half
Clans. Not less than that is fairly Scottish, extra Scottish than Kabuki dancers or Chinese language samurais, for positive. Did Chinese language samurais ever exist, by the best way? Color: straw. Nostril: extra profound, extra on cereals, fatter, extra on a beehive and something that is inside, together with honey. With water: extra hay, maybe. Mouth (neat): appears like that is fairly good. Meursaulty, with some grapefruit, chalk, tarter apples, a wee yeastiness, even beer… With water: dough, breads, mint, aniseed, cider apples, chalk…  End: identical for a fairly very long time. Feedback: that is Clynelish with a real Clynelish engine inside, bordering stardom.
SGP:552 – 89 factors.
