The Fall of Whiskey makes use of a base of rye whiskey, easy syrup, lemon juice, and bitters, and will get topped with apple cider.
Created by Anthony Baker, a contract cocktail professor, this refreshing drink hints of cooler climate forward. The contemporary pear and apple cider cool the warmth of the rye whiskey with fantastic spice notes from the bitters.
INGREDIENTS
- 1½ oz. City Department rye (or different rye whiskey)
- ¼ D’Anjou pear, plus 1 slice for garnish
- ¾ oz. easy syrup
- ½ oz. lemon juice
- 4 dashes Hella Cocktail Co. Apple Blossom bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 oz. dry arduous cider
- Rosemary sprig and cinnamon stick for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Muddle pear in a shaker. Add easy syrup, lemon juice, bitters, whiskey, and ice. Shake for 10 seconds. Pressure right into a Collins glass over crushed ice and high with apple cider. Garnish with rosemary sprig, cinnamon stick, and slice of pear.
