SAN DIEGO, California – Thorn Brewing Co. is worked up to announce the kick-off of a model new collection of hazy IPAs that highlights native San Diego artists.
“San Diego is residence to so many wonderful artists,” Thorn CEO, Marc Martin explains. “So for our Shades of Haze collection, we reached out to native artists from every of the neighborhoods the place we have now tasting rooms. Every artist created a beer label for us and we will probably be internet hosting a launch occasion that includes their artwork for every beer launch.”
The primary artist within the collection is Hector Villegas, a first-generation Chicano from the historic neighborhood of Barrio Logan. His art work is a mix of Mesoamerican glyphs, textiles, and 3D geometry that he calls “Neo-Mexika.”
“The Barrio Logan Artwork Scene is rooted in working-class Chicano tradition,” Villegas shares. “It’s relentlessly resourceful and at all times the vanguard of latest, thrilling artwork types.
