In help of the individuals of Ukraine, True North Ale Firm has brewed a specialty beer for launch this week. OPIR Ukrainian Sturdy Stout was initially brewed within the basic fashion of a Russian Imperial Stout. Nonetheless, that reference was deserted final February. In the course of the spring, True North Ales enlisted help of the Consul Normal of Ukraine in New York, Oleksii Holubov, and a number of other native Ipswich residents from Ukraine to help us in naming the beer and designing the label. The phrase “opir” means “resistance” within the Ukrainian language. We stand with all Ukrainians of their resistance to oppression.
OPIR Ukrainian Sturdy Stout was aged for months in maple syrup bourbon barrels. Upfront bourbon spirit is adopted by notes of black cherry, walnut, and cocoa nibs. The end is good vanilla and maple syrup. At 10.5% ABV, OPIR is a giant beer, meant for considerate sipping.
OPIR is offered solely on the True North Ales Taproom, on faucet and to-go in 375 ml Belgian-style bottles. A portion of the proceeds of every sale will go to World Central Kitchen to help its good work in feeding these affected by the battle in Ukraine. We want to thank Fortis Options for his or her donation of the printed labels on the OPIR bottles.
