✨ Lindores Abbey Distillery Publication for The 1494 – Scotch Whisky Information

August 4th, 2022

Though July is historically reasonably quiet with many Scottish individuals away on their holidays, this nook of Fife has been very busy!

The one hundred and fiftieth Golf Open was held at close by St Andrews, and was a fantastically busy interval for us. The guests e book is stuffed with great, enthusiastic and complimentary feedback from visitors from everywhere in the US and the world who have been visiting Fife for the Open.

We additionally held a sequence of lunches, dinners, tastings and highland video games all through the week for sponsor firms and their visitors and the suggestions for all these occasions has been, to a tee (sorry) nothing wanting excellent.

Although we’re within the midst of the silent season, the distillery crew have been removed from quiet as upkeep is undertaken, the boiler has its 5 yr huge service and there are many different annual jobs to tackle throughout this time. The bottling line continues to be the busiest small facility in Scotland and we reward all people engaged on it in the course of the hovering temperatures.

We’ve been joined this month by Thomas Debing who’s working as an intern for six weeks. He might be finding out the technology of biogas utilizing draff, pot ale and spent lees. He will even spend time studying how a distillery features and getting hands-on with the method.  He has come from Chateau Pabus in Belgium and we’re delighted to be passing on our information to a different technology.

Lastly, we discovered themselves again within the beautiful village of Thiron Gardais internet hosting a bunch of journalists and suppliers on the launch of a brand new Thiron virgin oak bottling. In affiliation with our distributors in France, L’Explorateur du Gout they took visitors on a guided tour of the traditional abbey and its beautiful gardens. We planted an oak tree with our cask suppliers NAO Oak, earlier than internet hosting a tasting and scrumptious lunch on the sunny terrace overlooking the abbey. None of this might have been doable if it hadn’t been for the assistance of our pal Victor, the mayor of Thiron, the workers of the abbey and Simon, proprietor of the native resort.

Keep protected and keep effectively, from our nook of Fife
