Château d’Esclans has introduced the seventeenth classic launch of its flagship wine, Whispering Angel, which helped create the fashionable style for Provence rosé.
“A pale and pure rosé with notes of contemporary citrus, rose petal and crimson fruits on the nostril and a palate that’s spherical and well-balanced with nice acidity and construction,” says Founder Sacha Lichine of Whispering Angel’s latest classic.
It is a mix of free-run juices and pressed juices consisting primarily of grenache, cinsault and rolle from outdated vines grown in La Motte, Provence. Fermentation and growing old passed off in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks with twice-weekly lees-stirring.
The result’s a pale rosé with notes of contemporary citrus, rose petal and crimson fruits on the nostril, the corporate stories, and a palate that’s spherical and properly balanced with acidity and construction. Drink as an apéritif, or pair with a wide range of meals, from herb-infused (Mediterranean) styled dishes to Pan Asian delicacies.
